She's a Caribbean/Dutch woman raised in the suburbs of Rotterdam, The Netherlands.Her artistic practice, which spans analog pictures, digital designs, collages, grafitti and more explores the interplay between analog and digital mediums. Drawing inspiration from the African Diaspora & personal experiences, Janey addresses societal issues through a personal lens. Using her own studio, she creates art that is not only visually powerful, but also tells stories about the invisible and often ignored aspects of society. Her work, which ranges from intimate portraits of women to sculptures made from toilet rolls, questions the value of work that is often seen as om the idea that even the most "mundane" work can contain deep beauty and meaning. In addition to her visual art, she is also active as a DJ on local radio stations Operator en Radio Worm in Rotterdam.
